Autistic Kids in Ontario Get Funding for Camps


The government in Ontario, Canada, is spending $530,000 this summer to help autistic children attend summer camp. Most of the money is to provide each child with a support person to monitor him or her at all times during the camp sessions.

Mary Anne Chambers, Children and Youth Services Minister of Ontario, said she expects the program to be renewed every year. It is a way to give parents a summer respite and allow all children to have a camping experience.

Talisman Camps
