A recent study performed by Philliber Research Associates in conjunction with the American Camp Association (ACA) involved a survey of more than 5,000 families about their child's camping experience. The findings were overwhelmingly positive in regard to the skills that children gained through camping.

Wilderness Programs SUWS measures its success in many ways, from the smiles on the faces of the young people who now understand their worth to the willingness of parents to share their SUWS experience with other families in crisis. SUWS licensed wilderness programs provide families with a safe and immediate intervention by helping students recognize and address the underlying cause of negative, unhealthy behaviors and working through impasses brought about by internal struggles, rather than confronting outward behaviors only.
